"I have been under the spell of the faeries for most of my life. The pictures and stories that move me most are those that expose the thinness of the veil that separates us from the Otherworld, and if my own drawings do not feel animated by some unquiet prescence I soon loose interest in them. For me, faeries are the creative spark in nature, the tricksters who beguile and confuse us and then point out the path that leads to furthur adventure, and who provoke the desire to explore and connect with processes we don't understand."
- Alan Lee in his new Introduction to the Twenty-fifth Anniversary Edition of Faeries
This page contains my personal thoughts and musings on Faery and the peculiar intoxication of Faery inspiration. Also included is poetry and prose written by others thus charmed by the fae. My own artwork inspired by Faery muses can be seen in The Gallery Wing. There are a number of links to offsite information within the essays, and each essay contains footnotes to guide the reader to additional material on the subject.
This particular page will be in a perpetual state of construction. However, there is enough information currently available to warrant the opening (or should I say, re-opening) of this section. I hope to include more information as I write it. Please use the navigation bar on your left to read the present contents of the Faery Notebook.
